Barrier-free mechanical parking systems with enhanced safety for older persons and wheelchair users

Under Japan’s “Barrier-Free Law,”* department stores, hospitals, welfare facilities and other new buildings are legally required to take measures to enable barrier-free access. In line with that requirement, JFE Technos obtained barrier-free certification from the Japan Parking Systems Manufacturers Association, and proposes barrier-free type multi-level parking systems that can be used safely and with peace-of-mind by older persons and wheelchair users. *Official name: Act on Promotion of Smooth Transportation, etc. of Elderly Persons, Disabled Persons, etc.

Eliminates the danger of level differences and gaps in the auto boarding area

So that older persons and wheelchair users can use the parking facility safely and securely, the maximum level difference or gap size is 20 mm or less from the mechanical parking facility entrance to the automobile boarding area.

Passage width of 900 mm or more for easy movement in and out of cars.

A wide passage from the entrance allows wheelchair users to get in and out of cars easily.

The JFE Technos “comb-shape type” system can reduce construction costs.

With our unique “comb-shape” system, it is possible to meet barrier-free requirements for all floors (all levels) by improving only the 1st floor.
